A re-cap of the history of medicine and alternative medicine's role in it all.

Hippocrates, the father of western medicine who lived and practiced over 2400 years ago in ancient Greece, always considered medicine as a healing art form based more in creative approaches to health rather than adherence to strict objective guidelines. Hippocrates was a practitioner and teacher of medicine who stated in his famous Oath of the physician "...with purity and with holiness I will pass my life and practice my Art." He believed that healing the body depended on knowledge of all aspects of man from the physical to the mental, emotional and spiritual. Hippocrates knew and practiced this art. Modern medicine however has lost touch with its roots and separated itself from Hippocrates' philosophy.

The development of modern medicine was made possible due to incredible technological discoveries which included: the microscope, EEG, ECG, Sonogram, a wide range of X-ray machines and MRI devices as well as new techniques in laboratory testing that have immensely helped practitioners diagnose medical conditions. Once diagnosis is established, the condition is treated according to prepared scientific protocols and the progress of the disease is monitored by elimination of symptoms. In this way, people aren't being treated but diseases are. Many times the practitioner also has multiple protocols to choose from and he or she makes a guess as to what will work for the patient. It is an educated guess, but a guess none the less.

Modern medicine is only concerned with the measurable and physical and therefore extremely limited in its approach to health and wellness. Most aspects of our lives, such as energy, emotions, thoughts and feelings, are not physical and currently immeasurable by conventional methods. We know that these aspects dominate our lives and yet are completely ignored by modern allopathic practitioners. These aspects are critical and must be addressed with innovative techniques and approaches for health to be truly achieved.

Modern medicine has turned away from treating the patient as a whole complex organism with many facets. Instead it compartmentalizes symptoms people experience into discreet diseases and then aims to relieve those symptoms while never getting to the root or source of the dysfunction. Symptoms are just our bodies way of coping and dealing with a source of stress, whether it be physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. The root source of the stress needs to be addressed in order for total health to be achieved.

The biggest deficiency that modern medicine faces is its complete ignorance of the energetic aspects of life. Over 100 years ago Quantum physics established that matter as we know it is composed of condensed energy at various vibratory levels. Everything in our world, including living organisms such as ourselves, generates unique energy fields with specific frequencies. Even the thoughts and emotions we experience have specific energetic vibrations. By examining these fields through use of compatibility analysis and bioresonance principles, one can ascertain a huge amount of information. When applied to human beings, these techniques allow one to determine sources of pathological dysfunctions, causes of disharmonies, compatibility with specific treatments, and analysis of the priority of individualized treatments.

The latest and most integrative technique that allows one to analyze an organism's energies at its various levels (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual) is the ACMOS method. Such innovative and alternative methods of healing are truly bringing the art form of medicine back to modern medical practice.
