We all know a sedentary lifestyle isn’t good for our health. Yet studies show around 31% of people over the age of 15 live a sedentary lifestyle, a factor contributing to about 3.2 million deaths every year. In other words, moving the body and exercising are critical for optimal health. But what if you’re chronically ill and even getting out of bed is a challenge? We’re speaking with Antonia Franco, a registered nurse at NYCIM who has been studying fitness and exercise and speaks to chronically ill patients on a daily basis. 

I would recommend exercise for someone that is dealing with a chronic illness if it’s possible for you. So the benefits of exercise even if it’s some type of low impact exercise, like walking outside have been studied to be beneficial.
