Supplements for Energy: How To Avoid Spending A Fortune
If you feel constantly exhausted, you’re in good company. A OnePoll survey from 2022 found 3 out of 5 U.S. adults felt more tired than they’d ever been. Nearly 60% of the respondents said that because of a lack of energy, they couldn’t focus. Unfortunately, taking a cat nap or resting failed to restore the respondents’ focus and energy. In light of the chronic exhaustion experienced by the respondents and millions of Americans, can taking supplements for energy help?
Yes. But there’s a catch…
It costs hundreds of dollars to purchase just a partial list of the most recommended dietary supplements to fight fatigue.
Do you have hundreds of extra dollars a month to spare?
Furthermore, many dietary supplements fail to address the root cause of low energy levels: restoring energy at the cellular level.
And for the rare energy supplements that improve cellular energy metabolism, very few do so in the brain.
If your brain’s biochemistry is essentially in sleep mode, having abundant energy and living at a high vibration will be difficult to achieve.
An Energy Supplement That Helps Restore Focus, Concentration & Memory
If your supplement cabinet looks like a small pharmacy, there’s good news. You can clear out the supplements that don’t work and that are taking up space. There may be just one supplement you need for overall energy and brain power. It’s called Nadovim and it’s backed by several research studies to support energy at the cellular level in the brain.
For instance, a 2021 study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that the primary ingredient in Nadovim reduces neuroinflammation and age-related cellular deterioration.
If you can’t drag yourself out of bed in the morning and can’t focus on your work, then what does this study have to do with helping you conquer chronic fatigue?
It mostly has to do with an ingredient in Nadovim called nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide or NAD+ for short.
Just as a spark plug provides the catalyst to start a (non-electric) vehicle, NAD+ acts as a spark plug for the mitochondria in every cell in the body. This coenzyme kickstarts numerous biological processes. This includes energy production, DNA repair, gene expression, and regulation of the immune system.
Known as “the metabolite of life”, the NAD+ in Nadovim helps address chronic fatigue and brain health and the source of the problem. And in doing so, it helps your brain and body create energy—when it’s needed.
If you’re constantly staring at screens for work (and for pleasure, or for killing time), this drains the brain of key nutrients that are needed for optimal cognitive function.
In essence, Nadovim is for the brain what the amino acids in protein powder are for muscles after a vigorous workout.
Nadovim Helps You “Adapt” To Stress
In addition to containing NAD+, the best supplements for energy also include at least one adaptogenic substance.
An adaptogen is a herb that meets three criteria:
- It helps normalize the body’s responses to stress in a non-specific way.
- It is non-toxic.
- Helps the body’s myriad systems restore homeostasis (balance).
Out of tens of thousands of medicinal herbs on the planet, only a small percentage are classified as adaptogenic. Thus, adaptogenic herbs are like the cream of the crop of plant medicine.
One reason why you may feel exhausted is that your cortisol response is out of balance. Cortisol is the major stress hormone released by the adrenal glands. If you have chronic stress, you could have too much cortisol or insufficient levels.
Taking adaptogenic herbs may help return your cortisol levels to a more normal range and daily flow. (Cortisol levels should naturally be higher in the morning and then gradually taper off.)
Nadovim contains the adaptogenic herb, bacopa monnieri. Bacopa was described in a 2021 study in Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience as “a viable supplement to … improve cognitive health in older adults.”
Cat’s claw is another adaptogenic herb in Nadovim. Studies show cat’s claw supports circulation in the brain, reduces fatigue, and supports the immune system.
Other ingredients in Nadovim that support overall energy and cognitive function include:
- Magnesium: Not just for cramps and sore muscles, this mineral supports neurotransmitter function and memory.
- CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10), aka ubiquinone, is an antioxidant in your body that your cells use for energy generation.
- Thiamine: Better known as Vitamin B1, this nutrient helps neurons in the brain communicate more effectively. That means better focus, concentration and overall energy for you.
- Glycine: An amino acid, this basic building block of protein is like a general contractor in the brain and elsewhere in the body, helping repair damaged tissue.
A Holistic Approach For Better Energy
Regularly taking Nadovim may help revitalize your natural energy levels. But really what’s necessary for conquering chronic fatigue is a holistic approach. This includes calming your sympathetic nervous system (the “fight or flight” branch).
Watch Eckhart Tolle videos on YouTube to learn how to ease anxiety. Read Innovative Medicine’s “7 Tips To Reduce Anxiety,” which includes breathwork techniques. Write a daily journal. Immerse yourself in nature.
Make sure you don’t have any underlying infections caused by mold toxicity, Lyme Disease, or Epstein-Barr Virus, to name a few.
Avoid energy-zapping foods, which would include anything with added sugars. Intolerances to gluten and dairy can also cause fatigue. Try going gluten-free (avoid all grains, including whole grains) and dairy-free.
Many people rely on caffeine pills, energy drinks or multiple cups of coffee to get them through the day. That approach yields diminishing returns. If you want to increase energy, look for solutions such as Nadovim that restore energy at the cellular level.
At Innovative Medicine, we consider every therapeutic approach in Western medicine as well as complementary and alternative medicine. We can help you restore your energy levels so that you can start living your best life again.
