Introduction to the PL2020
The PL2020 photoluminescence device offers proven and calibrated ultraviolet therapy to cleanse the blood and body of pathogens and restore vital function. The PL2020 provides ultraviolet blood irradiation (UVBI) using cutting-edge technology including pure crystal cuvettes instead of tubular cuvettes. UVBI has been around since the 1930s to treat bacterial viral infections, but due to a lack of full understanding of how to harness the power of UV light therapy, it phased out in the 1950s.
Thanks to advances in science and light calibration, the PL2020 provides precise, safe, and potent UVBI therapy to aid in a wide range of illnesses. By oxygenating the blood using UVBI technology, your blood can be cleansed of toxins and infection, elevated blood pressure can be stabilized, and viruses like the flu can be removed.
Benefits to the PL2020
UVBI therapy promotes healing, kills harmful pathogens in the body, and supports your own body’s healing systems. Benefits of PL2020 UVBI therapy include:
- Increases oxygen absorption into body tissues
- Destroys fungal, viral, and bacterial growth
- Improves circulation and decreases platelet aggregation
- Improves circulation by dilating blood vessels
- Improves the body’s ability to detoxify and inactivate or remove toxins
- Activates cortisone-like molecules, sterols, into vitamin D
- Restores the normal size and movement of fat elements
How the PL2020 Works
PL2020 works by providing state-of-the-art photoluminescence therapy through intravenous infusions of UV light. It is a major autohemotherapy (MAH) that involves the extraction of approximately ½ pint of the patient’s blood from the vein and into an IV bag.
An intravenous (IV) catheter is then placed in a vein in the arm where blood is sent through the PL2020 device. Rather than using tubular-shaped cuvettes, PL2020 uses flat, pure crystal cuvettes that more evenly spread and thin the blood making it more receptive to UV light therapy. Once the blood is in the cuvette, it is exposed to carefully calibrated ultraviolet energy to oxygenate the blood and kill pathogens.
Once the blood has been exposed to this healing energy, it is then returned to the body through the same IV catheter to pass on the healing benefits to the entire body. The goal is for the blood that has been irradiated by the UV light to transfer and pass on the effect to the rest of the blood, organs, and tissues of the body to provide holistic and systemic healing.

Behind the Science
Science & Safety
The treatment of infectious disease with a medical device: results of a clinical trial of ultraviolet blood irradiation (UVBI) in patients with hepatitis C infection Int J Infect Dis .
UVBI therapy was used in nine patients who had the hepatitis C virus and subsequent infection. After 15 treatments spaced out over 22 weeks, the viral load of hepatitis C was reduced by 21.5%. There were two patients who also suffered from psoriasis and they noticed an improvement in their psoriasis symptoms as well. Researchers concluded UVBI to be safe and effective in treating hepatitis C and encouraged further research to evaluate benefits regarding psoriasis.
Effect of UV-irradiation of blood on the course of adaptation to conditions of hypodynamia A V Zor’kina, V I Inchina, Ia V Kostin
A study done with rabbits found UVBI to be beneficial in helping the body adapt to stress induced by long-term hypodynamia (loss of power).
Use of Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation Against Viral Infections Clinical Reviews in Allergy & Immunology
UVBI therapy has been used to help prevent organ rejection in animal models when it comes to organ transplants. UVBI inhibited the immune system from rejecting the donor cells and organs. This shows how UVBI is able to regulate immune system response as well as treat infection and this may be why PL2020 therapy is beneficial in treating autoimmune-related diseases like Lyme disease and fibromyalgia.
The Effects of Ultraviolet Light Irradiation on Hematological and Morphological Characteristics and Potassium Level of Human Blood for Transfusion Associated Graft Versus Host Disease Prevention |Golsa Tabatabaei Yazdi et al.|
In another study, UVBI was found to be safe and effective for preventing Transfusion Associated Graft Versus Host Disease (TAGVHD). Not only did UVBI reduce reaction and rejection, but it also did not damage the red blood cell membrane or affect potassium levels.

Where does PL2020 Ultraviolet Blood Therapy fall on the medical spectrum?
PL2020 falls under the ‘Biological Medicine’ section of the medical spectrum.
Receiving Therapy
Receiving PL2020 Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation Treatments
We are pleased to be one of very few clinics in the world to offer PL2020 treatments at our clinic, the New York Center for Innovative Medicine (NYCIM). Additionally, we offer normal ultraviolet blood irradiation therapy. However, the use of this or any of our numerous therapeutic options is only performed on patients after an in-depth health evaluation. Our ultimate goal is the complete restoration of health in the most efficient and safe manner, and with so many therapeutic options, it is impossible to know if PL2020 is right for you without an initial evaluation at our clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is PL2020 Ultraviolet Light Therapy?
PL2020 ultraviolet light therapy uses a proven photoluminescence device and specialized flat crystal cuvette to deliver ultraviolet blood irradiation treatments to inhibit and destroy pathogens while optimizing immune function.
How does PL2020 differ from regular ultraviolet blood irradiation therapy?
PL2020 is an advanced and larger ultraviolet blood irradiation system that utilizes special flat crystal cuvettes and specially calibrated UV lights. It is able to process more blood more effectively with no plastic exposure, no additives, and is FDA filed.
