Tired & Brain Foggy? Blame It On NAD+ Deficiency

NAD Deficiency Symptoms

You can fool Mother Nature on the outside. Yet no matter how much anti-aging serums you purchase, Father Time keeps on ticking on the inside. As we age, it gets more difficult to feel abundantly energetic like you did in your 20s and 30s. No fine-line and wrinkle-minimizer can cover up declining cognitive function that far too often accompanies the aging process. There’s a long laundry list of supplements you can take to stem the tide of cellular aging. However, if you’re struggling with constant fatigue and poor concentration and memory, the reason could be you have a NAD+ deficiency. Thus, taking a NAD+ supplement may help, provided it’s safe and effective.

What is NAD+?

Every dietary supplement has its place. Vitamin D for immunity and bone health. Vitamin C for collagen production. Omega-3 fatty acids for cardiovascular health, etc. However, out of all supplements, NAD+ is arguably the most important for kick-starting the energy-producing cycles in the mitochondria of each of your tens of trillions of cells.

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme. (Coenzymes, also called cofactors are like catalysts or spark plugs for vitamins.) All living cells contain NAD+, and it is critical for helping you feel energetic well into old age. Every single metabolic process that takes place in the body, from DNA repair, gene expression and especially energy production depends upon your levels of NAD+.

In terms of energy production, NAD+ not only helps you climb a steep flight of stairs without feeling winded. The compound is also vital for brain energy.

Statistics on NAD+ deficiency are hard to come by. Considering that millions of Americans are struggling with low energy and concentration problems, it’s arguable that there is a NAD+ deficiency epidemic.

What Are The Symptoms of NAD+ Deficiency?

Symptoms of NAD+ deficiency range from the barely noticeable to the debilitating. The only way to know for sure if you have insufficient NAD+ in your cells is to test for metabolites of the compound.

In general, the following symptoms may indicate that you have an NAD+ deficiency:

  • Diabetes
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Neurodegenerative diseases
  • Muscle weakness
  • Depression/Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Unexplained weight gain
  • Low immune function (getting sick often)

Even if you haven’t been diagnosed with a chronic illness, if you frequently struggle with low energy and cognitive dysfunction, it’s likely you have NAD+ deficiency.

In addition, a 2019 study in Antioxidants Redox & Signaling suggests NAD+ deficiency is associated with other age-related diseases such as cerebral ischemia (severely impaired blood flow to the brain), myocardial ischemia (impaired circulation of the heart).

Could it be that NAD+ deficiency leads to more severe viral infections? In November 2020, researchers posed a hypothesis, fittingly in the peer-reviewed journal, Medical Hypothesis, that suggested that NAD+ deficiency may be the primary factor for mortality caused by certain viruses. The reason why, the researchers speculate, is that a lack of NAD+ results in oxidative stress.

What Causes NAD+ Depletion?

Besides oxidative stress, which is caused greatly in part by lifestyle factors such as diet, smoking and excess alcohol consumption, the aging process is a main contributor.

Think of it this way. The activity of the enzymes that rely on NAD+ as a cofactor are a mirror of our energy levels. When we are young, our NAD+ cofactors have the energy of Olympic sprinters. But in old age, the cofactors are sipping lemonade in a rocking chair all day.

By no means is NAD+ deficiency the only reason why we get old. However, it is thought to be a major contributor.

Can You Take A NAD+ Supplement?

The short answer is yes.

The better question, however, is do you need to take a NAD+ dietary supplement? After all, if you eat a perfectly healthy diet, devoid of processed food and added sugars, and if you exercise daily, will that be enough to reverse NAD+ deficiency?

Maybe, maybe not.

For some people with chronic fatigue, getting regular exercise may not be an option. Thus, a NAD+ supplement may be necessary.

Unfortunately, most NAD+ supplements don’t work very well. One reason why is that most supplements that claim to raise NAD+ levels only contain precursors to NAD+.

While precursors may help increase NAD+ levels, the amount of the increase may be insufficient for people who really struggle with chronic fatigue and brain fog.

[NAD+ precursors include: Nicotinamide riboside (NR); Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN); Nicotinic acid (NA); Nicotinamide (NAM); Tryptophan (TRP); Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT).]

Nadovim: A More Effective NAD+ Supplement

Is it possible to cut out the middleman to spark cellular energy? That’s precisely what the NAD+ supplement Nadovim does. Instead of containing just NAD+ cofactors, Nadovim cuts right to the mitochondrial chase, infusing the cells directly with NAD+.

In addition, Nadovim includes adaptogenic herbs, antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, amino acids that increase energy and boost brain function by improving neurotransmitter activity and communication.

Nadovim is available without the need of a prescription and is the only clinically-formulated NAD+ supplement that contains cat’s claw, bacopa, CoQ10, magnesium and other ingredients.

Are There Other Ways To Increase NAD+ Levels?

Innovative Medicine offers intravenous and nasal spray infusions of NAD+ via a therapeutic service, NAD+ Brain Restoration Therapy.

Regularly taking Nadovim and/or receiving NAD+ Brain Restoration Therapy may help turn back the clock on accelerated internal aging, which contributes to chronic diseases. Reversing NAD+ deficiency restores neurotransmitter balance and mitochondrial function in the brain; improves mental clarity and cognitive function (focus and concentration); decreases inflammation and supports a normal immune reaction.

Nadovim and NAD+ brain restoration therapy may very well be the key to unlocking the fountain of youth at any age.
